Community Science Saturday: Winter Solstice

  • Teaneck Creek Conservancy 20 Puffin Way Teaneck, NJ, 07666 (map)

Take advantage of the daylight on the shortest day of the year, to come out to Teaneck Creek and look at how the animals use the wetland in winter. How have the plants and  animals prepared for colder temperatures and possible snows this season?

Explore TCC through the seasons on a walk with George Tsapellas and participate in community science by learning how to document what you see on your phone using iNaturalist or Seek. Each month will highlight a different part of the park, focusing on specific habitats, wildlife and plants.

George is an avid user of iNaturalist and has been cultivating knowledge about local plants and wildlife for many years.

Prior to the program, install the iNaturalist app on your phone, create an account, and join Teaneck Creek Conservancy under “Projects”.

Seek by iNaturalist is available for younger participants.

All ages.

Registration recommended.

Light rain or shine. Registrants will be notified by email if the program is canceled.

Some trail sections are challenging for strollers. No restrooms available.

Support TCC’s nature programming by donating to TCC or becoming a TCC member.
