Come drum, sing, and dance Gahu, a recreational piece from West Africa, playing traditional drums, bells, and rattles. This connective music making is fun, playable and accessible for everyone - no previous musical experience is required. (Reading music notation is not involved.) Instruction by Robert Levin, director of the Montclair State University West African Drumming and Dance Ensemble, and percussionist at The Lion King on Broadway.
All ages; 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Instruments will be supplied by the instructor. Please register in advance so we can have an accurate count for instruments. Donations encouraged.
Bring an outdoor chair, bug repellent and water.
Registrants will be notified if the event is canceled due to weather.
