Group Volunteer experiences:
Individual Volunteer Opportunities:
Corporate or Group Volunteer Days:
We welcome the participation of groups in our volunteer and stewardship programs. Corporate, community, school, service, or faith-based groups are always welcomed! Email volunteer@teaneckcreek.org to schedule a date. In your email please let us know the following:
When you were hoping to volunteer?
How many volunteers do you expect?
How long a visit you'd anticipate (a few hours, half day, whole day)?
Any other planning considerations that would help us shape your experience.
We kindly ask corporate groups seeking to volunteer to support our mission by making a donation to the Conservancy. This contribution helps sustain our programs, maintain our natural spaces, and ensure a meaningful volunteer experience.
Public Volunteer Days:
Watch our newsletter, “In the Cattails”, our Facebook and Instagram accounts or our program calendar for calls for volunteers.
Community Outreach/Tabling Support:
Each spring and fall, the Conservancy receives many opportunities to table at various festival and municipal events across the County. If you love chatting with people and love Teaneck Creek Park, tabling is a great way to do both. Talents working with families and young children a plus. Contact us at volunteer@teaneckcreek.org if you have a particular skill set you are offering!
Peace Labyrinth Native Plant Gardeners:
Volunteer help is needed to plan, weed, and plant in the Conservancy’s Peace Labyrinth. Take the opportunity to work in a beautiful forest clearing that is dedicated to restoring your mind and spirit.
Email volunteer@teaneckcreek.org.
Fycke Lane Garden Caretaker:
Volunteer help is care for our wetland garden in the Fycke Lane Outdoor Classroom. Take the opportunity to work a tranquil setting that often has dragonflies and orioles in the summer. Email volunteer@teaneckcreek.org.
Master Gardeners of Bergen County:
We are an approved site for Master Gardeners of Bergen County! Get your hours by joining our Weed Warrior program on Wednesdays at 9, or choosing to care for one of our gardens. We typically schedule 3 group care days with MGBC each year to care for the Peace Labyrinth Native Peace Garden. Contact us at volunteer@teaneckcreek.org or see the MGBC newsletter, In the Potting Shed to learn more.
Special Events & Fundraising Support:
Teaneck Creek fundraises throughout the year to secure enough funds to continue our operations, including a commitment to free public programs. Assistance is always welcomed at Conservancy special events at the events themselves or in the planning of them. Our Events Committee meets 1-2x monthly and oversees our Champagne Brunch, Brewery fundraiser (fall), and Jazz concert (winter). Contact us at volunteer@teaneckcreek.org to learn more about the committee or become an event assistance.
Social Media and Communication:
Do you have experience in print media, communications, or social media? Our Marketing & Communications committee is always looking for more help. Contact us at volunteer@teaneckcreek.org if you have a particular skill set you are offering!
Weed Warriors are our standing volunteer group and a critical part of Teaneck Creek’s mission.
You can join the dedicated volunteers at the Teaneck Creek Conservancy and reap the rewards of investing in your park.
Weed Warriors: Help the Conservancy maintain a invasive-free buffer zone on either side of its trails and help maintain a park free of trash that flows in with rain events. Groups meet and work together on Wednesday mornings. Learn more about Weed Warriors:.
Join the Weed Warriors, 9am Wednesdays by emailing a request to get on their listserv.
