Bergen County Audubon New Year's Day Walk

Join Bergen County Audubon as we explore the winter birds using the restored wetland habitat at Teaneck Creek! Come discover your first bird of 2025!

BCAS offers two walks monthly at the Conservancy. One walk is typically on the weekend and one during the week. Enthusiasts of all levels and interests are welcome to attend. BCAS will have additional guides on hand to help newer birders identify birds. Programs with BCAS are part of the Conservancy's year round suite of free public programs. If you enjoy this program we encourage you to make a monthly donation or become a member to support more TCC programs like this one.

Earth Care Day

Take a road trip to Cheesequake State Park for EarthShare New Jersey’s 5th annual Earth Care Day where hands-on education programs allow families to learn and experience New Jersey's air, water, land, and wildlife. There will be lots of family fun, demonstrations, wildlife stories, children's crafts, and program animals as well as a clothing drive, kid's costume parade and a scavenger hunt.


EarthShare New Jersey connects non-profit partners leading the charge for environmental awareness to corporate partners who share similar values. Teaneck Creek is a proud member of Earthshare NJ

Every Day is Earth Day (off-site)

Every Day is Earth Day is a celebration full of fun for the whole family hosted by the Ridgefield Park Environmental Commission. Teaneck Creek Conservancy will have a table full of information and an earth friendly activity. There will be boat rides with the Hackensack Riverkeeper, fishing with the Hudson River Fishermen's Association, music, live animal shows, educational and informational tables, facepainting, food and activities for the children.

It’s sure to be a full day of fun all around!

Spring is simmering! Curious what plants are popping up and what wildlife are leaving tracks at the Creek?

Explore TCC through the seasons on a walk with George Tsapellas and participate in community science by learning how to document what you see on your phone using iNaturalist or Seek. Each month will highlight a different part of the park, focusing on specific habitats and plants.

George is an avid user of iNaturalist and has been cultivating knowledge about local plants and wildlife for many years.

Prior to the program, install the iNaturalist app on your phone, create an account, and join Teaneck Creek Conservancy under “Projects”. 

Seek by iNaturalist is available for younger participants.

RESCHEDULED FOR MARCH 14 DUE TO SUNDAY’S FORECAST

For a brief period in the early spring, American Woodcock use the night sky to perform their courtship rituals. Join Bergen County Audubon Society and TCC as we head out to the park to see if the woodcock will be displaying. Meet in the parking lot off of 20 Puffin Way at 6:30pm. Please note program will involve walking in the park at night. Flashlight/headlamp use is recommended when departing the program. Free.

Enjoy exploring TCC through the seasons on a walk with George Tsapellas and learn how to document what you see on your phone using iNaturalist or Seek.  Each month will highlight a different part of the park, focusing on specific habitats and plants. George is an avid user of iNaturalist and has been cultivating knowledge about local plants and wildlife for many years.

Prior to the program, install the iNaturalist app on your phone, create an account, and join Teaneck Creek Conservancy under “Projects”.  Seek by iNaturalist is available for younger participants. Meet in the parking lot at 20 Puffin Way. 

Registration recommended. This is a family-friendly program. Rain or Shine. In the event of severe weather, the program will be canceled. Registrants will be notified via email.
